This run will take us north to Butterfly Farm on the banks of the Hawkesbury River. Here, those who are feeling adventurous can have a run on the ‘Indy 800 Kart Track’.
According to their web site, ‘This 800-metre circuit is one of the longest in the Sydney area. This peculiarly named venue opened in early 1997 on the site of a well-established Butterfly Farm. The circuit features many straight runs providing karts with ample time to hit top speed. There's also the odd hairpin, a stack of S-bends and a few sweeping turns. It's considered to be an exciting, yet demanding track.’

Suggest you book 2 x 15 minute sessions on the track for 10-15 people starting at 11:00am. The cost is $51 (2007 price) per person for the 2 runs. Pay at the track.
Those who don’t want to take part in the Karting can either watch or continue on to Windsor.

Meeting point: Thompson’s Corner (car park on south side of Castle Hill Rd just off Pennant Hills Rd)

0.0 Depart Thompsons Corner – left out of car park
0.4 Turn right at lights onto New Line road. Proceed past the mini roundabout and group up near the entrance to the sporting club
2.1 Take first exit at next roundabout (Boundary Rd joining from right). Continue straight through the roundabouts and lights staying on New Line Road, then Old Northern Road until you reach Cattai Ridge Road
16.0 Left into Cattai Ridge Road. Continue approx 8km
24.1 Right into Halcrows Road
31.0 Right into Wisemans Ferry Road
41.8 Left into Sackville Road
43.7 Veer right to stay on Sackville Road
51.9 Cross the river on Sackville ferry
61.1 Turn left onto William St
62.0 Turn left into Butterfly Farm

After the fun, you are at liberty to head home whichever way you like. Enjoy your day out.
